Here is several pictures of the bees gathering pollen from various flowers around the hive over the weekend, only 1/4 of what i have planted have flowered up to now, i did try to plan it so the bees have various early forage over a longer period of time until all the natural wild flowers and trees start to flower, when the other bulbs start popping up and all the wild flower mix's i should be able to get some better more colourful pictures.
Sorry if i bored anyone..:spy:

Nah, it's a dwarf Iris.
Post away Millet, stunning pics as always. I love no2, she's waiting her turn instead of popping next door. :)

Must be very satisfying seeing them on your own plants

Most definitely, and just as satisfying to see the Bumble bees on them as they sure need help compared to when i was a nipper, we used to catch jar fulls of bumbles when we where kids and then let them go at the end of the day, (don't ask why) lol, but these day they is none to catch.

Beautiful photography, keep them coming :hurray:

I know what you mean about the Bumbles too, used to catch them with my friend when I was a nipper, with bare hands! Don't recall ever getting stung?

Thought I'd add one of my own!

Took this last year at the Eden Project in July! One of my favourite pics!

Love that crocus pic..

Just look at the colour of the pollen!!

Yes, Japanese Willow. The catkins are really long.
Across the bridle path there is an early goat willow and that is covered with Bumbles.

walking back from the chapel (only a couple of hundred yards away) after a funeral this afternoon and noticed one in the garden three doors up, absolutely plastered in newly opened catkins, I think some goat willow must be open somewhere around as well looking at the bees. My snowdrops have finished and crocs on the way out but the cottage at the bottom of the hill has a garden full of snowdrops just opened.

I don't have any pictures to show...so I am enjoying yours so much.

Lovely pics.

I have no idea where mine are going - there's orange pollen coming in so I presume they're on the gorse in the fields around. And there's yellow (daffodil?) and a creamy white (no clue!) but I can't find them in the act, although I do see them bringing it home.

Get your boots on and get marching about, that is what i do and if the weather is nice i usually find bees on flowers somewhere, the furthest i found them last year was around 200yards away on a cover crop.
