Normal sugar, flour = not syrup

I use syrup too instead of water. It depends what stuff I have.
When I have pollen flour (not balls) I use 60% syrup.

Our bees fly too under 10C. They collect pollen but the amount is really small. They can fly only inside the limited hours.

When sun shines, the surface of ground is warmer that upper air.

Yes, I have seen lost of thing during 50 years, but I am pround that I have lost my my mind and I do not over estimate my bees even now.

AND NOTE:

First, you should have ability to foresee 3 weeks weather. Yes, I know. Every one in UK has that ability.

The brood cycle is 3 weeks. Don't trust that bees can forage every week or every day ENOUGH in Spring weather. Why? Because they cannot do it even in Summer weather.

.
Foresee the weather for three weeks ahead in the UK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Three hours is about the reliable limit.

AFAIK it is unobtainable. It used to come in from Spain but as far as I can search it is not available.

Not very useful really.

Vendo pollen product end May - early June 2011 , dried and cleaned, ready to package. There are 8 buckets from approximately 11 kg one. I also have 2 buckets of the same pollen balls with smaller (past through a sieve smaller). The vendo 14 € /kg, but if taken in block i clearly a better price. For the eventual delivery can meet at the fair in Piacenza.

We need a UK supplier not to mention some bulk.

I can find 1kg of bee polen @ £25.00 in the uk.
Does it have to be a certain type ?

Any kind you like but it must be sterilised. Disease you see the dreaded disease.

Now this may sound daft, but could it be microwaved for x amount of time as this would surely irradiate it ?
Im sure some tech person could give time per wieght ratio

Hi Wightbees,
Afraid that the microwave won't work as it uses microwaves at 2.45 GHz/122mm wavelength for dieletric heating by making small polar molecules such as water to vibrate back & forth. Gamma ray sterilization uses much higher frequencies > 10EHz with > 0.01mm wavelength normally from Cololt 60 to smash apart molecular bonds in cells which kill them but produce very little heating and if at a low enough dose little damage to nutrients.
It's quite easy to heat glass up to well over 850'C in your microwave, but gamma rays pass stright through and people get funny about keeping Cobalt 60 in your kitchen for some reason....;)

thanks for the tech info,i new someone would be along soon enough.shame it wouldnt work.

21 days for worker bee to emerge, 21 days to get collecting necter, work out when apple, pear, damson, cherry blossom is out, so work the days backwards from then, thats when you want plenty of nectar and pollen collectors or thats what i want, so a feed at end of feb if temp has started to rise, suns getting longer and warmer so give em a boost, thats my reasoning.
