Slugs

Hi, everyone I've noticed over the summer and autumn slugs on my hive door step and entering the hive and trying to feed of combs by the entrance at night. What can I do to prevent this? Has anyone else observed this? And is there such a thing as a slug guard. Cheers c

Yes most effective is slug pellets but its chemicals or use copper tape and put it on your hive legs

Depends what you mean by "its chemicals" - so is copper! Ferric phosphate slug pellets are classified as 'organic' and equally as effective as metaldehyde pellets according to Gardening Which?

I think I'll use some copper tape I have a supper under my hive as spare I'll put some round that good idea cheers. I don't like using pellet's whether there organic or not. Cheers c
