Hi all

Planning to move some hives tonight.

Don't suppose it matters if it's raining dose it ?

Just thought I would do a quick check here. :)

Well it might bother you but the bees wont mind unless its realy bad when they all pile out to see who's been upsetting them

Grub

As long as the roof is on and OMF and they are tucked up inside all should be well.

You on the other hand can get as wet as you like.

Good look

Ok thanks all for your swift replies.

Possibly a good time to move before the evenings get warmer.
Just take your time and relax,as you know bees dont like wound up beekeepers.

Good luck..

Hi all

Just thought I would do a quick check here. :)

Moved a couple of mine the other evening, when I originally set them up I didn't leave enough space behind the hives to work comfortably. I put some poly foam in the entrance, strap around the hive and moved them carefully. It was a lot easier than I had thought and something I should have done ages ago.
Take your time, plan each step and you will be fine, rain should keep them in and make it easier.

Just got back from moving them.

Went like a dream and as I got back in the van it started raining. :)

All were light one was very light so I will nip over in the next few days and give them all a feed.

one was very light

Do it sooner rather than in a few days? Even if you were to avoid the colony being very short, you may lose a lot of brood.

Regards, RAB
