Hi all. How's about this for strange....
Checked on the colony I had that was a laying worker one today, to unite the broods back after they had chewed through the newspaper last week and found that the nuc installed in the bottom brood had started raising queen cells (x 3) not capped yet.
The queen was there, happily laying as well, no brood in the boxes above which meant the laying workers had been disposed of.
Left the colony minus the queen cells, 1 bC and 1 super and feeder on.
What next....more cells ? is the syrup encouraging them ? is it just the warm weather.
Answers on a postcard !!
