I have got home after the easter break to find supers filling nicely and have put extra supers on all the hives. Now looking ahead and thinking that I have limited capacity to do that again...

I have plenty of brood boxes and frames, but few super frames.

May have to extract a super or two to make room!

Would you extract or put brood frames on!

I work on an average of three supers per colony. Tip.

I would extract and put the newly empty sups back on.

Pays to plan ahead....

Yep. Clearer board on overnight. Extract following day, wet supers back on in evening. Perfect if you have your own extractor
Worked that way for years!

As Enrico and PH, as long as a) the honey is ready or B) you have some way of 'finishing' it.
Other than weight "Oh my poor back" there is no reason why you should not use brood frames - its also a way to get some drawn as well.

"No reason why you should not use brood frames"
but what if you only have an extractor that can extract shallows?

I have supers at hand but 70 mile away so my last inspection had me putting a brood box on with drawn foundation..luckily my extrater will take them.
