Rhombus board over an eke

I’m about to use my rhombus board for the first time. Should I put it over an eke to give plenty of room?

Question for Befriendly et al;

With the eke/clearing board setup, do the bees show any interest in building brace comb? I know there isn't much time for them to do this, but do you have do a little scraping now and then?

Yes, overnight they can build quite a bit. I had a really nice big one I was going to take a photo of...got destroyed in journey home. It's not a major issue unless leave them on for weeks.
