So the bees are on the rape (yellow pollen) Hawthorne (white pollen) and I saw :thanks::thanks:both these going in this morning. My question is what are the candidates for the red/burgundy coloured pollen that has just started going in?

Definetely horse chestnut (conker trees) the combs can look like they are bleeding the colour is so strong

Hi all,
What is the grass green colour then since we are at it!

Funny I have some right next to a sycamore tree and they aren't touching it

Not all sycamores seem to give off nectar. They seem to go in bi or tri annual nectar flows. I have no idea why, all I know that is when my bees have been on a tree I get thousands of little ones the following spring and that is the downside! Different one buzzing this year to last year, but all have flowers!
