ok pips, here we go

went to the timber yard this morning. and spent loads

i brought 6 metres of 50 mm by 50mm sawn , in red pine which is bog standard joinery grade stuff, in the two three metre lengths we have three knots which to me is brilliant

cost wise was 75pence per metre as since no of you lot will say what you pay i think that was within my budget.

also had a work with the yard guy about the different timbers first and when he told me how many they had in stock i just went " the cheap one please!!"

i also managed to have a go through the scraps bin by the circular saw for his off cuts and also walked away with another 12 , strips about 60mm by 35mm and about 800mm long that lot cost me another £3 one or two knot free but great as paly wood for me to butcher and wood butchery is what i do!!

so £7.50 for a arm full of play timber. can i also point out that the 50 by 50 is a specific type but neither me or wife can rember what it was.

there now i have broken the carpenters cardial sin of sins does this meen that someone is going to the shed tonight to knock the set of all my saws??
