Hi all just wandering . Can a colony go through winter without a queen?

Rather depends on when they go queenless and how strong they are. It would present a major problem to a one-hive owner in the spring, though.

Try to get yourself a laying queen locally. Many beeks are combining their colonies at the moment and will therefore have one going spare. I went queenless on my only colony this time last year. Had four virgins did not mate successfully. Died out in cold snap in Jan., but realised that they would not go through the winter. You will end up with laying workers if they do which you don't want!
