Queen moves hive.

I put a mated queen into a mini nuc while I used her hive for queen rearing.
She and her entourage absconded about a week ago, despite the disc on the nuc being set to keep her in.
Just found her today in a hopelessly queen less split at the other end of the apiary.
Shame she is surplus to my requirements.

Last year we had two Q- nucs side by side in the association apiary. We had a spare marked queen available (after uniting two mediocre colonies) so rather than wste her, she was introduced to nuc #1, the next weekend we assumed introduction was unsuccessful as nuc#1 was still Q- but when nuc #2 was opened she was found happily laying in there!
