I have capped brood in my observation hive, and I know the situation will be a bit different but can I assume that there will also be some in my normal hive?

As you said, the sitution will be a bit different- the best way to find out is to have a look.

HAdnt seen the queen for quite some time but last weekend the bees were out and cells more visible and I could see capped brood....didnt know if they would be in advance as they are a bit warmer inside...

I want to re-populate my empty hive with bees from my other outside hive..
