yes, for the reasons I just listed - if the workers are diseased, so is the queen, if FERA find disease in the workers removed from the cage and sent back to them, they will taka action on that whole batch of queens.
 
I dunk the cage in a glass of water then release the queen and pop her in a clean cage, the bees are all less likely to fly about and makes getting the queen easy, she’s perfectly fine and comes to no harm, it’s then easy to pop her in a press in cage by herself. I also think removing the attendants is good hygiene.
This queen initiation ceremony reminds me of my school days initiation ceremony enjoyed by pupils on first day.
