Gave up mini mating nucs as filling, checking, absconding, feeding and upgrading became a drain on time and must have cost more than £6.
A 3-frame nuc (one of those foundation) can be built up to a 6 quite quickly and round here is worth £150-200.
BS box every time.

I can fill 55 on my own in a few hrs, 1 absconded last year( with help that apidea filled a 6 frame nuc by winter) fed on setup and 1 top up. If they build up to 6 frames quickly then you've got exactly the same issues with the fact that each side is only 3 frames and the queens need moving on.
The rest is simply a different management not a more difficult management.

Agree with that. The material is awful.
I've replaced mine with 4mm ply

The Correx divider height needs to be trimmed by 2mm to make the lid a snug fit, and the sidewall and divider grooves must be vaselined.
I heard that the Correx has been replaced recently by a metal sheet, but this was second-hand info. from a Facebook source.
