Not Paynes but I've got a few Parks and a Maisie with top feeders that I've given a couple of coats of thinned pva to seal (the Maisie one had leaked straight through on first use)

That's a cracking idea i have some waterproof PVA glue at my disposal..
Thanks
Steve.

i was thinking about melting some bees wax and using that but i am not sure if it might be too warm to paint onto polystyrene.
For the integrated Paynes nuc feeders we tip hot bees wax into it, whoosh it around and tip the wax straight back out into the pot, quick and effective.

That does sound a bit easier and quicker than using a paint brush, i might opt for my first thought and use hot wax .
Thanks
Steve.

I painted mine with a white bathroom paint which (hopefully) means it shouldn't go mouldy.

I cut mine out to add additional frames an bought a top feeder as I dislike the integral feeder.

To be honest - I don't.

Doesn't seem to cause any kind of problem leaving it unpainted. I always add thymol solution to the syrup.

Radiator roller handle and roller £2 @ B&Q

I think i will do similar with anymore i buy after messing on with hot wax, i have it all over my trousers(which will not come out) and burnt my wrist tipping them up to get the full inside covered, the bees are in them now anyway and look happy enough.
