We have the new style roof and there are no frames in the top super gust insulation. Thank you though .

Then can you gaffer tape the join between the super and the brood

Make sure the omf is not blocked with debris, with adequate ventilation and enough bees, mould is unlikely. And as already suggested make sure the hive is water tight with sufficient insulation over the crow board to avoid condensation. I have two original Paynes polys and was always getting condensation until I added two inches of celotex on top of the roof.
