Surely she should know better about the disease risks? Also, I would imagine neighbouring beekeepers don't want their bees filling the hive up with someone else's syrup if at all.
 
American, so it likely doesn't matter as they don't seem to care what pests/diseases are around. Probably their bees have all the pests and diseases going already - and they won't get a bee inspector coming along and killing off the colonies. Nor having the beeks nearby treating/regarding you like a pariah.
 
I think some YouTube videos should carry a serious health warning .. it's no wonder some beekeepers in the USA have problems keeping their bees alive ...
