A bit more information required I think ... what exactly did you get in the way of a hive/colony ? Did you buy them as 'with a laying queen' or was it a swarm with a virgin ? Is it a Nuc or a full hive .. did it come with the bees or did you get bees that you put in it ? How many frames (seams) of bees were there when you got them and how many are there now ? That's just for starters ...
