I did see on another thread that killing the foraging wasps could attract others

Only if you squash them on the hive or near vicinity.
If I come across wasps on the frames while inspecting I pinch them dead and throw them over my shoulder into the nearby pond.
 
Oh don't get me wrong I'm not disputing what you say, merely saying that in MY head reducing the number of scouts would reduce the number of wasps being led to the location of the hive, I suppose I'm applying bee logic to it, if the returning bee doesn't get to return to the hive to tell her sisters that she has discovered a great source of food then they wouldn't know about it until another scout found it.
With all the rain I would guess any wasp pheremone on the ground will be pretty much washed away now anyway.
As I say I wasn't after an argument merely stating that in my head destroying the scout wasps made perfect sense. :redface:
