I've split one of my hives leaving the queen in its original place an The other box left to make their own queen in the same apiary. I'm looking to put the split on a a new site, is it better to move them now or let them make a new queen get mated And sorted then move them. Thinking better to do it now? Than wait?

If your planning on moving the Q- split to a new site I would move them at the time of the split. That way, What bees are in the hives stay in the hives. So long as your new site is far enough away!

Yes more than 3 miles cheers

I'd leave on the original site until it is established as a colony. A 3-mile drive makes a test frame difficult if things do not go to plan

This is the only problem I could see it's 20mins away from my other apiary.

Short distance for a test frame! You could put a damp towel over it, if you were that worried, in the past I've put a frame, or piece comb in a nuc box and driven 3 miles, it's not a problem.

I'm in a similar situation myself, i will be waiting till the virgin is mated and up and running before i move the hive anywhere, once i have inspected to make sure she is laying i will leave them another week so they can stick everything together, that way it will save the frames bashing about inside the brood box, depending on where i choose to put the hive will be rather a 60 or 100 mile trip so everything needs to be spot on before i move them.
