I'm new to beekeeping this year. My May swarm is doing really well but they have masses of capped honey in the brood frames and are now storing nectar in 5 frames in the super, none capped as yet. (5 frames brood, 4 frames 70% brood 30% capped honey, 2 frames pollen and capped honey)
Is there a way of encouraging them to move the capped honey 'upstairs'? I've heard some mention of bruising the capped honey, how do you do this and does it work?
I want to keep them happy not stressed so maybe it's best to leave well alone! Any ideas?

Just bruise the frames of honey, with your hive tool and the bees will take it upstairs.

rub the flat of the hive tool over the cappings so it only just breaks/bruises them. This will encourage the bees to move it up if there is room.
