mice destroyed my hives

My hives are at a farm there are rats and mice there i've seen them but luckily my wife has adopted a stray cat there also.
Lots of food for rodents on site and plenty of holes for them to set up home.
My hives are all ok so i bought the cat a box of biscuits :).
The chickens and horses have learned not to bother the bees. Hive no 6 I have also learned not to bother, waiting for the snow so I can push it over lmao. ( only joking )
metal mouse guards seem to have worked for me.

If your cat is sleeping off a bellyfull of biscuits it won't be catching vermin ;(
 
This damage looks like it could be badgers. They will gnaw their way into hives and other sheds to get food.
 
Someone posted pics of badger damage a couple of years ago which was much more severe than this - as they use their claws.
 
deffo not badger that would of eaten the hive looks like rat or squirrel 80 percent sure its rat though
