Is that your current setup?

Not really but hopefully soon.
At the moment I have

1 Omlet - For sale
1 Dartington - For sale
1 WBC - I will be selling in the spring
2 Nationals - I will be selling in the spring

What I'm trying to start with next season are Technoset hives
I'm still trying to decide wether or not to use plastic or wooden frames.
I was personally thinking of using Deep in the brood and Shallow in the supers. (sorry for the misreading of your post) Although using Deeps as supers is what I would do if I were a commercial producer.

(Funnilly enough I live around the corner from you, right near the JPH)

Ah cool. Not far from tony then. I'm living in Derby at the moment for university but the bees are still at Burgh Castle

Given the non-standardisation of langstroth frame depths (for the same name) in different places, http://www.dave-cushman.net/bee/lang.html it would be helpful clarification for all to make reference to the actual frame depths being discussed.

I would strongly advice anyone considering "buying into" any specific hive type to actually handle a real example, with bees, before investing.
Not only to feel the weights, but also to get the feel of the things themselves - whether it be short lugs, box-side handholds, frame make-up or whatever.
That seems like sound advice. Thanks
