I think the mesh came from Beehive Bits. The quality is ok on the mesh but their castellations are too thin and distort.

Yes, Neil, and the BB metal runners are thin as well and have only four holes for the pins. Beehive Bits frame runner: £1.10/pair; Thorne frame runner: £1.50/pair. The heavyweight Thorne runner and its fifth hole is worth all of that 40p and more.

Berhive bits castellations are awful. slowly changing all mine - the best quality ones are Maisemores and Simon the Beekeeper - Simon is the cheapest by a long chalk.

I get all mine from Simon the beekeeper. No complaints here.

Just a tip - if you are only buying a few bits I buy from his ebay store as it works out cheaper than going direct to his website.

Annoying isn't it. Just bought something from Lakeland that was cheaper from their store on Amazon with free postage than buying directly from them!

Me too, they're certainly not coming out in order of ordering. Still, have some bits from Thornes arriving tomorrow to play with. It does seem like The Maisemore deliveries turn up almost out of the blue.

Maisemore delivered my broods frames and wax within 3 days of the order... but The Beekeepers Wife does have a persuasive way with folk especially when a £1K purchase is on the cards!!!

In spite of collecting out of reach swarms we still seem to find time to make up the boxes and frames and get them onto the colonies.. long hours!!!:calmdown::calmdown:

Still waiting here. I rang them to ask about timescale ( and made clear I wasn't complaining) and they said up to 3 weeks still so seeing as I am out of supers it looks like I will be popping on a couple of brood boxes and using them as supers for the rest of the season - I don't expect much from it but if it keeps them occupied and I get a bit of drawn then its helpful.

I think I better order some jars now though!

I ordered on the Friday, haven't had notification but I'm not surprised, I didn't expect next day delivery.
Considering the year we are going through, I'd imagine they are quite inundated and all the distancing rules must make things a bit more difficult.
It will turn up when it turns up.

Maisies delivery after two weeks

I was eagerly looking forward to the promised 'call from the courier' within three weeks of ordering, then opened the front door half an hour ago and there were two large Miasies' boxes. My girls will now be treated to new frames rather than laboriously scraped down, sanitised and singed recycled ones.

Remembering the crush of people at last year's June sale in their marquee, if they have had to be shipping similar volumes of stuff this year, then two weeks wait is not bad

Waiting is not the problem for me, its the lack of communication that is frustrating.

I do accept that this is their big sale of the year and we have COVID to deal with too.

Every order I've ever placed with them has needed chasing.

Normally, I leave it a week, then message and ask. I then get one back saying 'Will be sent out today'. I've got used to the order only being sent when I chase it.

I did chase my sale order, a week and a bit after placing, to get the same 3 week email that others have experienced in this thread.

Needless to say, I only order from them when its worthwhile, and something I don't really need urgently. And I really, really, really hate that I can't login and see my order history, order progress etc, that literally every other ecommerce does!

I ordered on the Friday and received an email that it will be delivered on 15th; not panicking as not in urgent need of anything thankfully.

My order was delivered yesterday after I chased it last Saturday by email and was promised delivery this week.

There was an email in my in-box at 06:38 AM saying my order would be delivered by 22:00. Seven minutes later, at 06:45 AM the delivery driver was banging at the door. Never had parcels delivered at that hour before.

Praise for Maise

It has been said that the real test of a supplier is how they deal with an issue. On opening the boxes that arrived on Friday, I discovered that they had missed out the bottom bars for 100 frames. I emailed them, they replied within the hour. The bottom bars have just arrived today, Sunday

:iagree:
I have had nothing but first class service from them for years now. Any niggles dealt with immediately with no quibbling. They've even righted my own mistakes without any issue even though they were well within their rights to say 'well, that's what you ordered'.
