Their sale seconds are in the same ball park as a N Wales supplier does normally as far as I can see. Maisemoo also won't ship sale items either.

I bought from their winter sale last year, and they did ship. Had to explain away a couple of very large boxes soon after getting similarly large boxes from Ts.

I think the sale that's just been announced is a one-day event, at their shop rather than online.

Brilliant! The only one close to me and I'm in Portugal!
Not that I need anything, but it would be nice to have a look around!

Don't be too heartbroken - it's just a big marquee with palletloads of flatpack second quality hives and frames (all the sale covers) just a cash and carry basically but well worth it if you need the bits - but you do get free tea which as a Welshman means a lot!
As an aside it's highly amusing to see the faces and attitude of those who smugly turn up half an hour before the 9 o clock start time to find that Eric has been selling since seven (his attitude is people turn up early for the wax exchange so might as well sell them the kit so they can go home and leave some parking space as it is a counry lane in the middle of nowhere!) but then, one of the qualifications of my job is being a slightly twisted individual! :D but :iagree: prices have gone up a bit since last year but then again they are a lot higher than they were in 1957 strange phenomenon, prices increase over the years

What have you been on this evening, jenkinsbrynmair?

Or is it the famous celtic verbal diarrhoea at work?

Talk of "stream of consciousness...."

Dusty

:D only had four pints of guinness (what's known on th fleet as a 'snack') must be the painkillers!

I was referring to this specific sale in my post, not all their sales.

I'm surprised to see a sale at this time of year - has demand dropped so much?////// i think people have lost a few colonies this year and have got a bit of equipment spare so arnt buying new... me included
:nature-smiley-016:

IIRC they had a similar one last year.
I'm sure I remember feeling peeved that it was out of reach!

Yes they did I went to that one - no shortage of people wheeling barrowloads of kid into their vehicles. I think it's a good idea - people will probably buy more 'just in case' kit at the beginning of the season when they hear of swarms and see their colonies expanding than at the end of the year when the bees are winding down and you're wondering whether they'll survive the winter.

Not actually the sale, and not for me, but some might be interested in the "clearance" prices for cheap deal national broods, supers and roofs that Maisie's currently have on offer.
