Hi,

I am extracting my honey at the weekend, so wanted to order some labels.

I have bought 4oz jars because I only have a small amount, but have no idea how many grams I should state on the label.

Any ideas anyone?

Vixy, it appears that you only have one hive.
And say you only have "a small amount" of honey.
My suggestion would be that you get some blank labels that suit your printer (ie appropriate for laser or inkjet - whichever you use).
If you get Avery branded labels (or copies of one of their formats) then you can use Avery's DesignPro software (which is a free download).

That way, you only need to print labels as you need them - a single sheet at a time is easy.

Cheaper, more flexible, and more appropriate quantities than ordering-in labels.

For measurement, use a digital kitchen scale that goes in 1 gram 'clicks'. Such a thing costs less than £10 these days. (Check the supermarkets!)
I fill into a jar on the scale.
I put a jar on, zero the scale, fill it to (more than) the right number, and check as I put on the next jar that the reading still shows zero.

If you are fussed, measure the total weight (jar plus honey plus lid) of one specific jar. Then take it to your local Post Office and check-weigh it on their scale. Only panic if the difference/error is greater than the 'safety margin' you allowed!

as you only have a small amount are you planning to sell any?

You would be surprised how much gets taken off your hands by relatives friends and neighbours!!

No need to put any weight on unless selling.
