Hope you find them useful. I wouldn't use anything else as they give you protection but they also give you sensitivity for handling the bees - and they are powdered inside so your hands don't sweat much. Make sure you get wrist bands to go on top of them and the end of your sleeve - to stop them climbing up . I use tight white cotton elasticated ones - which I buy from Dorothy Perkins - and no, they don't look girly. You could use sports ones but I found that because they are towelled the bees detect your skin underneath and get you.
I used to use the kitchen marigold gloves but I found them on the thick side, not as protective and much more expensive. Even if I go through a very angry hive the bees tend to ignore my hands.
