FREECYCLE's concept is to use, reuse, convert, modify etc etc BEFORE the stuff gets anywhere near a landfill site.

I needed a washing machine motor for an apple scratter...
Freecycle linked me to someone who had one to go.... I striped out the motor and drum, recycled the body to a theater group and the drum to a pond keeper... he also had the tubes pumps etc.............

One tries to do something for the planet!

no such thing as freecycle over here. infact its illegal over here to remove anything from the recycling area. loverly and closeminded of the officials.

Actually that's just not true: a quick search reveals 24 results....though not all are user groups per se.

So why not join the nearest and ask for some pallets? And if there's none near you could start one...

quite right i am very incorect and happy to be shown the error of my ways and have signed up for my nearest one.

i am not finding a shortage of pallets just untreated ones that are suitiable for bees that seems to be like hens teeth. shall put in a add now for some loverly off cuts.

how about cleaning them up abit and sanding where needed then paint with molten beeswax to form a barrier between the wood and the bees, sorry if this is a bad idea i expect the you usual torrent of abuse by the pros lol
