How do I go about catching a swarm with bait hive
Or nuc box ?
What do I use
Where do I put it ?
Any advice appreciated

I put a nuc on the shed roof with some old comb in it, worked a treat.

A neighbour just found a swarm moved into a spare hive. It seems anywhere bees have been bbefore attracts them

A bit of old comb in any old box. Two drops of lemon grass oil inside the entrance and several fingers to keep crossed!

Having caught three in two days in boxes as above, a word of advice
Make sure your swarm can live happily in that box for a few days before you re-hive them. The ability to add frames and replace a solid floor with a ventilated one without disturbing the bees is a good thing.

I put a friends nuc box on my pergola as a bait box. Nothing turned up, then the grapevine started to grow over it and I gave the box back.

Since then I have had three swarms land on the pergola, just below where that box was. The scent must have stuck.
