Just had an email from the BFA:
A member has requested the association makes members aware of a recent theft, near Stratford-upon-Avon. Thieves took 25 full supers awaiting removal from hives. They also took a double-brood colony and super which was set up with a new queen (clipped and marked blue) in late June, along with a spare roof, floor, queen excluder and crownboard. The brood boxes were numbered with metal tree tags: 3426 and 3472. Most boxes are branded F03 or with a stylised PE. Most frames are marked on the top bars with the initials PE and the year the frame was first used (eg, PE 2017) with an indelible felt tip marker.

If you have any information in relation to the theft, please do not hesitate to contact Membership Services in order that the information can be passed on accordingly.

Unbelievably sad that beekeepers can also be thieves.

Sorry... bumped this post!

Have bought a better trailer hitch lock as noticed mine was left ready to go!!!!

Several years ago I had 6 hives stolen.
As well as the feelings of anger, frustration, loss, and even depression it messes with your head.
You know it's a beekeeper who took them, so every beekeeper you are aware of becomes a possible suspect.
Its really not nice.

I was wondering if Peter has photos of the stolen boxes and hive?
