Location
Gower, where all the fun happens
Hive Type
National
Number of Hives
24 + a few nucs....this has to stop!
I thought I would check back in and say hello to everyone after a few months offline for various reasons. Hoping that all is well with you all and that the new beekeeping season ahead will brign you a much needed distraction to the daily gloom we are currently seeing.

All my hives made it through the winter so I am feeling positive (until the bees stop following my plans) about the various options planned for this year and the setting up of a 2nd apiary. Cofion

Hello Jeff! Here's to an enjoyable and productive beekeeping season for you.
(Yes, my bees most definitely have plans of their own each year.)

Hi Jeff
Welcome back. Some of us take a break from the forum when the winter "stir crazy" sets in. Obviously, Covid-19 has extended that a bit but, hopefully, we'll see some proper bee related discussion soon.
On another forum, we're talking about the damage done during the two main storms we've had over winter. Lots of OSR fields have failed. Are you seeing any of that in your area?

Thanks both.
No damages from the storms around here. we mostly have livestock farms with grazing fields and our spring crop is mostly from hawthorn which is abundant in hedgerows. We also have a few crop fields which are used for winter crops and I don't believe these have been impacted.

Winter wheat round here mostly drowned but but OSR seems ok apart from bird damage.
