The heather is just coming into bloom on the Derbyshire Moors a full two weeks later than last year, anyone on North Yorks, Staffs moors is the heather at a similar stage?
The other question of course is how long will the heather last?

I live next to Cannock Chase, Staffs, where the heather has been developing over the past week or so. I'd guess a week ago 5% was blooming now approx 40%. Very area dependant, some heather looks as though it will never blossom. Not an expert by any means, only first season with bees so can't even offer comparatives with last year. Took no notice then.

Like yourself, I'd be keen to know how long it is likely to last. I walk the dogs every morning so I'll soon notice. My bees have been the busiest ever over this last week, not sure what it is. Still have rosebay willow herb, privet, blackberry and heather. Today they were out at 6.45am, never seen that before!
