Handling queens

It could, I suppose. After caging ten thousand queens over the years, I've been stung twice by a queen. Not nearly the pain level as a worker bee.

Some get stung handling queens and some do not. One suspects it depends on how they are restrained and whether or not another queen has been held in the same place a short time previously. The queens of Native AMM bees seem to be more prone to stinging than the queens of other sub species.
