That I will agree with...as with changing comb when it gets black because it harbors disease.

YES ... I agree with that as well ... I've seen comb that came out of a building that was demolished that must have been there 50 years and the bees were still using it ... Probably like Triggers brush ... three new handles and four new heads but still as good as new !! Bees are the cleanest of organisms ... if they don't like what they have they tear it down and rebuild it or coat it in propolis ..
