Hello keystone! I joined the forum yesterday. I don't have any bees yet so I am just at the asking silly questions stage at the mo. What is your position? :)

Hi both!

Welcome to the madhouse.

Don't be afraid to ask daft questions.
Everyone on the forum has done some stupid, crazy, clumsy thing at one time or another - and I defy you to come up with some new stupid question or idea!

Don't mind that sometimes it gets a bit fractious. Just ignore it and cream off what seems right. You will soon realise who to trust here.

And if I'm responding to a post, remember, others think that they are right; I am.

Welcome!

The forum can provide lots of different answers.
Some are just plain wrong. Some might be right for others but wrong for you (requiring assets, equipment, climate, manpower, skills or whatever that aren't available to you), and some may be incomprehensible but there will be some that are really helpful and I can assure you that occasionally there will be the odd stroke of genius that casts light into corners that you never realised existed, and makes clear what had previously been mysterious mumbo jumbo.
Thing is, even picking up an understanding of what makes the wrong answers wrong (or wrong for you) can be incredibly helpful.
Almost as helpful as learning about situations before you find yourself in that particular hole!

The forum is a great resource, but it requires your engagement and application - you shouldn't expect there to be one true way that everyone agrees upon!
