Frame pins

I believe "rampin" is the technical term for the "pin insertion tool" wot i referred to in my earlier post. I believe they are made by Eclipse and available at better tool shops cheaper than Txxxxxxs catalogue. The "pin" inside the tool is magnetic and holds your frame pin insitu whilst you apply the pressure. Bliss! More satisfying than banging with hammer. Also i do my frame assembly sometimes at sunrise and I can be very quiet doing it. The penalty for making a noise at this time would be painful?

Whilst i would love a nail gun (and a wood turning lathe and a mortise & tenon router jig and a Leigh D4 ........) my last begging note to Santa was strangely returned with a post-it note saying "yeah right"

Anyway, Nailguns are suitable (i would imagine!!) for an assembly line at home next to a power source - i hope they use stainless nails?

A rampin fits in your pocket and can be taken to the apiary? Or the seaside?Nice to sit in the sun listening to birds knocking up a few frames to insert later.

Back to reality - off to peruse a few tool catalogues
