Hi guys,

went to inspect a couple of nucs that i have on my garage at home.

When i cam to the first nuc, I immediately spotted this years queen dead only 4 inches from the enterance!! On looking at the frames, i have found they have made either a supercedure cell / emergency cell.

Up until ast week, she was laying great.

what i dont understand is if they have choose to supercede her, why chuck her out? surely it would be better to leave her in there until the new queen is mated.

Bees temperment gone up a little now though

They wont have chucked her out if they were superseding. Simplest answer is some times the best, My guess is she died for one reason or another. They did what they do with any dead bee in the hive... Cary it to the entrance then drop it near by.

So in short she died and now they are building emergency cells to replace her. Don't worry, pull down all the QC you don't want and leave one to mature into your new queen and let them get on with it.
