Liver and bread and Butter pudding. Aged 7 I was at a school which featured both of these for Tuesday lunchtime, was rather unforgiving to reluctant children so we had to eat it, and every Tuesday I was sick. Nice!

Later moved to a vegetarian school which brought about its own complications and inbuilt prejudices plus an addiction to contraband sausage rolls.

Now I enjoy a bread and butter but still rather indifferent to liver, though not so bad.

Actually cooking a hot-pot in remembrance of Betty tonight and am going to include another thing which I used to detest and not eaten for about 40 years, kidneys.

Spam fritters at school yuk! and cooked tined tomatoes but i used to love the school puddings yum:)Chris

Cucumber.. Made me sick. Still does.

Overcooked cabbage: as in 20 minutes overcooked.. The smell:-(
I love freshly cooked cabbage.

noo mushrooms are magic lol

:iagree::sifone:

Hmmm... looks like all the old, unfavourites are here: mushrooms, sprouts, cabbage, liver, school dinners (except puddings of course:))

seems like the main cause of childhood :puke: is not really the food, more the preparation...

Never had a problem with not liking food. I ate everything put in front of me as a child and even more now I'm older:rolleyes:

Just took delivery of some freshly grated horseradish and made into very pungent paste, cant wait to get some beef to try it on

:drool5:Funnily enough I never minded hot things like horseradish when I was a kid. It grows wild where I was brought up, and I used to like the smell of it when it was trodden on.

Brought up during the war primed one to eat frogs if necessary :)
'Faddy eater' wasn't a phrase in common use!
Affluence has down sides it would seem:)
Obesity was reserved for spivs and their offspring :D

My son taught me to love cabbage, shred it really thin and cook it in a knob of butter, stirring often for about 3 minutes, it keeps the flavour in and it can't go soggy because there's no water!

I have decided as an adult that I don't want to be bothered with the faff of peeling oranges anymore, there fore I will only have orange juice or easy peeler satsumas and the like.
