Sorry I can't comment beyond guessing worldwide postal services will use airfreight in preference to surface routes for speed. Much will depend on your local animal health laws regarding controlling the spread of disease or parasites.
What strain of bees are you proposing to use and what type of hive?[/]
hi, was thinking to go for European bees, as for the hive was thinking of National or top bar
Are your hives going to be located in Nagaland (I had to look it up but you are in the North East corner of India on the borders of Assam and Myanmar ?). If so then I can see why air travel may be necessary but are there no local honey bees or existing beekeepers who could provide a starter colony for you ?

yes pargyle, you got the right location, our local beekeepers are somewhat limited in knowledge, the link you gave, whom i also visited are limited in everything as they are newly formed and still learning.[a little unhelpful unless you want to buy honey] we have the Asian bees etc but not the European bees, which is what i had in mind [may change my mind]
Yes they can, they import bees into the USA from Australia by plane.
You'd be best to ask your local airlines, their animal cargo section would be able to advise which flights are suitable (pressurised hold or not too high altitude).
There may be other considerations such as quarantine if you're crossing international boarders, mostly on the import rather than export side, but again, you'd be best to ask locally.
thanks will check out the airline in question, no international lines to cross.
my main concern was that can the bee survive in cargo hold of passenger airplane
