I am planning to demaree my strong hive for queen rearing but as I don't have any spare drawn out comb I will need to put mostly foundation in my bottom box. I want to leave 2 supers in between the 2 brood boxes for honey and I am worried about the bees storing sugar in them if I put a frame feeder down the bottom.
How would people feed the bottom brood box to avoid this? Diolch

I wouldn't - if it's strong enough to Demaree and you do it during a good flow they should draw it out from their own resources. Key us to get the timings right when they are strong enough

Why do you want to feed them? there should be stores in the supers, if the bees have not collected any stores they won't be strong enough for demarree.

As above really, I wouldn't be considering doing it for a couple of months at least. Wait till they are strong and bringing in nectar from a good flow, you don't want to be feeding bees that could store the feed rather than store it or you will never know how much sugar you have in your honey!

I know there has been ample discussion on how much store/ sugar is needed to draw a full brood box but I wanted to be on the safe side as I won't check the bottom box for a little while my virgin above is being mated.
The bees overwintered on a brood + 2 and the cluster is in the 2 supers now. What I will probably do is swap supers and brood box around and take out 3 frames of drawn comb from the brood box and replace with foundation.

Why not wait, as above, until timing is right and then let the bees tell you what to do? At the moment you have " the cluster " in the two supers, so that is
Likely where the brood is. To Demaree to get new queens, there is nothing wrong with, for example, moving a super of brood to the top.
I have found that I can make plans, but the bees often have different ideas.

JBM is spot on. Why would you need any feed if there are a couple of supers of food there already?

No added sugar syrup and there is no problem of them storing it anywhere.
