Hi morning I inspected the nuc in the picture yesterday, there was lots of nurse bee's and to be onist every frame was covered in bee's I noticed some Drones not hundreds but I counted 20/30.

I counted in total 5 frames of eggs in a six frame nuc, the laying pattern was lovely arc of pollen and honey round the outside..and the outside of frame one and six was all honey
No qc or preps that I could see.

I want to transfer the nuc but I'm concerned about the weather next week?
Remember I'm on a hill 450 metres high south Shropshire area.
Thoughts please.

Some thoughts come to mind.
Put a nuc super on top with drawn frames and a crownboard with feeder hole open between them.
Put a nuc super with drawn frames underneath
If you don’t have nuc supers then put a brood extension on underneath, again with drawn frames.
Hive into a full size hive with drawn brood frames
Add fondant. If you have brood in so many frames they might run out of food in the next ten days.

That's the thing Dani, I would have to drive 85 miles to get my spare poly nucs .. I would of gone double nuc .
I've spare nats brood boxes and Brood comb etc..
The Temps next week highs of 9c lows of -2c

I've plenty of sugar no fondant I'm waiting for my local baker to get back to me .

Move them into a nat brood, dummy down with some insulation so they have more room but don't have to heat the entire space. Insulation on top.
