Did I do something "bad"... or even close to a twitism?

So I have a mated queen arriving today. The plan is to give her a drop of water as soon as she arrives, then place her, still caged,in the centre of the queenless colony brood box. Leave for 24hrs and then,as Finman advised, check and see how the bees are reacting to her. If showing aggression should I leave for longer period in the hope that her pheromones spread and colony accepts her. Thanks.

Personally, I would wrap half of the travel cage in tape so the queen has a refuge. You don't want the workers biting her feet/legs

...if showing agression

Where that happens immediately I would be backing out to
park her up until that aggression was investigated and sorted.
Where your concern is it *might* happen some time in the very
near future a pushcage over the travel cage sorts it.
You introduce other factors/hazards in wrapping the travel cage
in anything.

So have introduced a mated queen in a cage and left for 48hrs. Went today and removed the plastic tab from cage, bees on cage seemed quite calm, very easy to brush of. Now going to wait 10 days and then inspect.

Checked the hive today, just removed one central frame, completely full, both sides , of lovely brood. Yippee. Thanks for all the helpful advice.
