Disc Entrance QX too small.

I attended a swarm earlier and knocked the bees into a 6 frame poly nuc with one of these disk entrances:

Upon arriving at the new site I set the entrance disk on QX to prevent absconding and watched. The bees tired really hard to come and go via the QX but try as they might they could not squeeze through.

Some QX's are apparently too small for some colonies?

Just poorly formed plastic most likely.

Cut an excluder you know works and there you are.

lol yes absolutely. I will try another disk, but my guess is it is the bees who are a little big.

I know, they were probably made in China - but who supplied them?

Maybe it's just indicative of our society and our bees are obese. Colony collapse disorder is probably the bees over exerting themselves after spending too long on the sofa with their KFC nosebags on. That or their high sugar diet...

There is no recessed entrance just a hole in the wall, and it did indeed come with the PBF nucs. The entrance disk seems identical to those on T's website. I placed another QX over the whole where it will stay for a day or two.
