Depends on the frame obviously.

5 from National and 6 from Langstroth.

Depends on the thickness of the comb.
I found that I had to use 10s frame spacing and a cutter made from an empty corned beef tin.

This is precisely what the Manley side bar was invented for.

As for cutters.... bin it.

Put a sheet of thin paper over the container you are cutting for, run a pencil round to get the dimension. Use that to cut a bit of 12mm ply to suit, add a handle and use a cold knife to cut around your former to give you blocks that fit.

Yes, but very slow doing all that cutting.
I simply use the "widely despised" cut comb cutter. Does the job in seconds. One firm press down, lift out with comb now inside cutter, then press cut comb out into container, job done. Needs a very quick clean after a few frames.

I find the number I get per frame (National) depends on how well the bees have drawn and capped the frame. 3-4 is more usual.

I just cut a chunk out and add it to a jar of runny honey, charge double!
