Thanks - never really paid much attention to the stuff - I stick by HM's thymol emulsion (when it doesn't stick to me) as tersted under controlled conditions by the universities of Eig and Thrace. Their findings pointed to it being better than fumagilin and helped with a better spring start

Me too, jenkinsbrynmair, but last year one hive limped through last winter and finally caved in, despite downsizing to new quarters, in the first days of June. (HM's thymol emulsion having kept the others clear of nosema, despite the poor early 2013 weather conditions).

So this question is about a back-up emergency treatment if I find nosema under the microscope in late 2013 or early 2014...any thoughts appreciated.

Hi Enrico,

Sure..but the behaviour pattern is so odd in this case: the Secretary of the BBKA visits a BBKA Member's Professional Link, deliberately, or by accident....yes, that could be pretty standard behaviour for a lazy lunchtime surf.

But then for the BBKA Secretary to decline to acknowledge that fellow beekeeper's cordial invitation to Link - and then to return to that BBKA Member's Link over a period of time without any explanation or engagement seems unusual to me, whether is on BBKA's time and resources, or on the BBKA Secretary's own. Why would you do that ?

As your avatar states: "That is the question!"

I didnt realise you were talking about the linkedin site. It is a nightmare, impossible to unsubscribe, every now and again it throws someone from your contact list to your email as a temptation which is very easy to click on even though you don't use linkedin. I have never signed up but I am considered a member, I cannot unsubscribe, I don't use it but constantly get suggestions and invites. I think you might find your bbka member is not 'checking you out' but stuck in linkedin's cycle like me......I feel for him!

Sounds ghastly, enrico ! I once joked to a friend that he should try the antidote to LinkedIn - which was a site open only at weekends and called ZonkedOut. He spent hours looking for it !

But I have been tipped off about these particular visitations by kindly soul who was aware of a third party connection, so the mystery is solved. Although the matter is more sinister than I had suspected, it is, may I repeat, closed on this thread. I will be taking it forward with the appropriate authorities.
