Hi everyone,

Picked up my 6 frame nucleus on Friday, but have delayed transferring into the hive because of cold winds. Although the temperature is around 16-18C.
My question am I right to wait for the wind to die down and how long is it acceptable to leave them in the nuc box.

regards
Michael

I really would not hang around. You don't want them swarming out of that nuc box - check for queen cells when you transfer.

More than warm enough just move them.

Foundation (or comb) next to hive wall, nuc, foundation, dummy board if you have one and fill out the rest with foundation or comb if you have it.

Thanks, I have moved them tonight and they seem quite happy.
