Hi thereI can understand your worries, but....
it's a bit early to be able to get hold of a queen,
if the cells are open it's not a guarantee that queens have emerged successfully,
you'd be unlucky if both failed, and if one is successful you can recombine.
I would just cross fingers and wait
and when you do see those eggs, it's one of the best feelings in my experience.
Well it's three weeks ( minus a day ) and I checked today .
One hive was queen less and full of honey ( but no brood or eggs )
The second hive ...... Five frames of stores and then EGG .. And grub ...and capped brood . You are right it feels fantastic Two friends ( also new Beeks) helped me and sharedmy delight .
I have a new question though .
I combined the two hives separating each brood box and super with newspaper and QE . Did I need to do this as they were one colony only three weeks ago . How long before I remove the paper ?
