I am in the process of changing one of my two wbc hives to a national.
I have most national hive parts, but not a om national floor. Is there any reason l cannot use my wbc stand with landing board and om floor for an otherwise national hive? (Would save me a bit of money)

Would there be a lip around the outside of the national that might collect water?
Other than that, I can't see why not, until you are able to get the kit.

apart from the footprint of a WBC box being different to that of a NAtional - no, but I don't suppose it would be too much of a faff to modify it

Just make a floor simple bit of ply with a batten around job done

No, no lip around the national box, so l think l shall go for it. The wbc floor/stand is quite wide to accommodate the lifts so I think l may even be able to fit a lift or two on for extra insulation in the winter.

That's the way to go .... the National box will fit fine over the WBC OMF but there could be an issue with rain collecting on the floor outside the box. That will be solved if you put lifts and a roof on.

That is what I meant, sorry for the confusion, but as Mandeville says, adding the lifts would resolve this.

My National boxes fit snugly inside my wbc lifts. Problem solved if your are the same, but wbc's tend to vary.

They should fit inside but you will have to take the batten off the floor that’s used to close gap between inner box and outer bottom lift. Normally they have fallen off anyway.
