Having dowsed a line yesterday I have decided to ask my wife to use the rods this afternoon. I have not talked to her about this at all so far, or shown her where the line I have supposedly found lies. It will be interesting to see if the same result is forthcoming - it will keep us amused for a while!!

I'm sorry, but I don't think science can explain everything.

Science is based on empricism and hence the human ability to observe and measure.

I don't think that can account for every 'mystery' in life.
To assume we can understand everything is arrogant.

Scepticism = good.

Cynicism = bad.

I asked my wife to play with my rod this afternoon with no luck - she was not amused, was not forthcoming and will not talk to me ! What am I doing wrong ?

I find a longer rod is rarely rejected. Especially one that swings from side to side. Nevermind!

Orthodoxy is only 'truth' that has has yet to be disproved. May not have been proven itself, mind.

Nothing wrong with cynicism when facing the zealots of any kind.

I am not at all surprised, I have seen the same thing done many times always with the same result.

I have also known somebody who could find water with rods, a hazel "wand" or an oak ball on a string. I know science would say this isn't possible but when you see it time and time again you start to believe there is something in it.

Oh, and then you try it for yourself, and find it works!
