Burgess Fogger

I acquired a Burgess Fogger some years ago when there was an interest in fogging mineral oil to control varroa. It's been sitting in my shed unused for many years but I now see that it is being used by some beekeepers to fog oxalic acid dissolved in alcohol.
Does anyone have any experience of using these for controlling the mites.

We've had one or two that have tried foggin salt.
Give it a whirl -it appears now you have to make a real effort to overdose with oa

Had a go about 3 years ago fogging OA in ethyl alcohol. Eventually gave up when it became apparent that it was (very) approximately 10 - 20% less effective than sublimation. I have now reverted to the Gas-Vap which, with a little practice, gives good results.

Why in alcohol rather than water?
Varroa too p!ssed to hang on?
I would expect alcohol to be more toxic to the bees.
